1. Select a Process Type

The main page displays three process buttons: Type 2, Type 3, and Type 4. Choose the desired converter type.

If you're not sure, scroll down to "2. Uploading Pages and Choosing the Right Type" to get an idea of which converter is suitable for your need.

2. Uploading Pages and Choosing the Right Type

Each process page allows you to upload a PDF file. Select a file and enter the page number (range or single number), then click Load Pages. Note that not entering a page number will load all the pages in the PDF.

Type 2 allows you to draw a full page table with clicks to define rows and columns, Type 3 allows you to draw tables at locations of your choosing, and Type 4 is for complex relation-based tables; you will probably not need to use this for common basic conversions.

3. Using the Mapper Tools

Type 2 Mapper

  • Draw Columns: Click on the page to draw vertical lines, defining the columns of your table. Adjust as needed to align with the PDF content.
  • Draw Rows: Click to draw horizontal lines, creating rows for your table. Ensure rows align with the data you want to extract.
  • Detect Lines: Use this feature to automatically detect lines in the PDF that may correspond to table boundaries, helping you refine your table structure. Note that this is best to use if you have only rows or only columns in your PDF page to speed up your conversion.
  • Auto-Fill Rows: Automatically populate rows based on your first, second, and last row drawn. This is meant to be used when your rows are going to be of equal length. To use this, simply draw your first, second, and last row line and click on Auto-Fill Rows.
  • Convert: Once the table is set, click "Convert" and choose "Excel" to download the table as an Excel file or "Clipboard" to copy the data to your clipboard.

Type 3 Mapper

  • Edit Table: In this mode, you can draw tables by dragging and delete tables by right-clicking on a table.
  • Add Row: After drawing table(s) as per your need, hold Ctrl and left-click on the table you want to draw rows inside; this will turn the selected table to red color. Simply left-click on the positions inside the table where you want to draw rows.
  • Add Column: Just like adding rows, select a table and then left-click wherever you want to add a column inside your selected table.
  • Convert: After making your tables, click "Convert" and select "Excel" to download the converted result as an Excel file or "Clipboard" to copy the data to your clipboard.

Type 4 Mapper

  • Edit Table: In this mode, you draw your tables of two types: Parent and Child (hold Shift and draw), and make connections between tables by using the cyan and yellow circles on the parent tables you drew. Connections: To make a connection, place your cursor on the dot and drag to the table to connect with. The yellow dot is used to connect a parent table with a child table, whereas the cyan is for connecting multiple parent tables together to act as one parent table (you’ll rarely need to use this).
  • Add Row: Ctrl+Left click to select a table you drew, then left-click to draw your rows.
  • Add Column: Similarly, like in Add Rows, draw your columns.
  • Convert: Once the table(s) is finalized, click "Convert" and choose "Excel" to download the output as an Excel file or "Clipboard" to copy the output to your clipboard.

4. Download Excel Output

After uploading, the system converts the PDF to an Excel file. Download the resulting file from the process page. Use the back button to return to the main navigation.
